WEBINAR "The architectural heritage in Shanghai, from the past to the present by two approaches"

Organized by the "Urban and Territorial Development and Sustainability" Working Group of Cátedra China, this is the first of a set of two events that have been held in June and whose objective has been to publicize the work of Spanish architects in China, from the very unknown of the generation that left a great patrimonial legacy in the first decades of the last century to that of young graduates who were forced to emigrate due to the 2008 crisis.

The first session on "Architectural heritage in Shanghai, from the past to the present through two approaches", was held online on June 2 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Topic: During the Webinar the work of the Spanish architect Abelardo Lafuente in cosmopolitan Shanghai from the period 1913 to 1931 was analyzed, by Álvaro Leonardo, architect and director of the ‘Abelardo Lafuente Research Project’; as well as the authenticity and recreation of heritage in contemporary urban development in Shanghai, by Plácido González Martínez, architect, professor at Tongji University and editor of Built Heritage magazine.
