WEBINAR "China in Africa: the case of the Contract of the Century in Democratic Republic of Congo''
Organized by Cátedra China online, this event was aimed at raising awareness of China's role as an investor in Africa, particularly in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, through the Silk Road. It was celebrated on June 1, 2021 at 6:00 p.m.
Topic: During the Webinar the relationship between China and Africa, two great countries whose relations go back to the 20th century through the Bandung conference, was analyzed. Among their relationships, the growing cooperation in commercial, cultural and investment matters stands out. The importance of China's Foreign Direct Investment in Africa was highlighted, as well as its relevant role since the beginning of the 21st century and its rapid growth in 2019.
On the other hand, the mutual interests of both countries were analyzed, as well as their bilateral relations, taking into account the rapid expansion of the New Silk Road and the famous case of the '' Contract of the Century '' in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to analyze the impact on the country's development by the investment project made by China.
